The Sony MDR-7506 is one of those studio staples that shows up in way more places than you’d expect. They’re light, foldable, and built like they’ve been doing this job for decades—because, well, they have. The sound is clean and detailed, especially in the mids and highs, so you catch every little pop, breath, or reverb tail when you’re editing or tracking. The low end isn’t super hyped, but that’s kind of the point. These are more about hearing what’s actually there rather than making it sound big and lush.

They’re also super comfortable to wear for long sessions, even though the ear pads tend to flake over time (nothing a cheap replacement can’t fix). The coiled cable is long and a little bulky, but it’s great if you move around a lot while working. Not flashy or luxurious, but if you want headphones that just do the job without coloring anything too much, these have been the go-to for engineers, producers, and broadcast folks for a reason. Straight-up reliable, with no drama.
